Our Story

Simple, streamlined silhouettes. Well crafted, easy to slip on and comfortable to wear!

Our shoe shapes and styles have clean lines and geometry. The effortless simplicity is inspired by Aksha’s travels to Scandinavia and influences from her partner.

We love tones, hues, shades, tints, in essence everything associated with ‘colour’! With each season we tell a new story of Colour.

Colour takes centre stage in all our shoes. Aksha’s roots from India are a big source of inspiration. Often colours of India are a bit simplistically assumed to be bright and loud. Whereas, such a large and varied country consists of different regions and each with its own unique colours and stories. From muted neutrals, to earthy tones, to soft pastels as well as bright and contrasting hues.

The minimal flora shapes and motifs add a bit of zest — a subtle whimsicalness to the shoes.

Another aspect of the shoes is our love for flora motifs, that are cut in leather. This comes from Aksha’s fascination with Jali (lattice work) walls, given her experience as an architect. The interpretation of Jali in the shoes is subtle and minimal, reflecting a more modern context.

Aksha was born in Bangalore, in the south of India. She grew-up across this multifaceted country, moving every two to three years because of her parents’ professions. At a very early age, she was exposed to the arts and crafts, primarily influenced by her parents. She received a degree in architecture and went on to work as an architect for couple of years. At some point, she discovered that she wanted to explore her curiosity for design and crafts further. Inspired by Italian traditions in  shoe crafts and attention to detail, led her to study shoe design in Milan.

Fashion opened up a new fascination for Aksha, beyond the craft itself — a curiosity in the cultural, socio-economic perspectives of fashion — how it plays an integral role within a woman’s wardrobe and how it’s shaped by society over time.

After Italy, Aksha moved to London with her Swedish partner Lars, whom she met during her Masters course. London, as a multicultural and diverse city was a natural choice, and has played an important role as Aksha evolved as a shoe designer. The Brand was co-founded by Aksha and Lars in 2011.
